In the Classroom Smith we use several different curriculums
to homeschool, as well as many different methods to teach. One method we use is called 'out in the field'. This
is where we get out of the house and experience a topic first hand. We read a lot of literature. We incorporate
music to our studies as a learning tool. We play both board games as well as physical games. We do other types of hands-on
learning at home. In addition we take classes at our local homeschool co-op and Charlotte Mason Society. We
even use workbooks and text books.
Each of us learns a little differently. Even though we all usually study the
same subjects, they may not be presented in the same way. For example, we use a book curriculum for math. One sister
uses Abeka while another uses Saxon. Two other sisters use Christian Light.
The great thing about homeschooling is the vast amount of options it offers both
the learner and teacher!

If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could
then better judge what to do, and how to do it. Abraham Lincoln
